Using the sun's rays to backlight the leaf and the tree's shadow to shield the lens and protect the sensor my main problem here was keeping the cobweb and leaf in focus at the same time. This was my favourite attempt.

Sometimes shrubs and low-growing flowers are so covered with spider webs that one has to wonder how many spiders, or how big is the one spider, that created the sticky trap. Those thoughts crossed my mind as I walked gingerly through the web-covered wildflowers.

This Hairy False Goldenaster grew through the cobwebs, leaving a lot of web fibers attached, adding to their own hairy stems.

Go out early in the morning when the fog is still there and the sun gives a yellow warm light, then one finds very beautiful things.

Handheld camera, sorry about poor focus.

Soon came the curious cows and wanted to chewing my bag.

There was only one shot.

Texture: Shadowhouse.

Have a lovely Tuesday everyone.

Unfortunately the spider is out of focus but I love this picture.

It was taken by my daughter with her mobile phone and it was an opportunity for the "strict" father to scold her for not carrying her camera at all times!

With freedom, books, flowers & the moon, who could not be happy?

Mono spiderweb

I almost walked into this this morning. Fortunately the sun was shining on it and it looked like fine copper wire which I haven't been able to capture.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR FAVS AND LOVELY COMMENTS THEY ARE MUCH APPRECIATED

I had a great first virtual lesson with Emmanuelle, exploring hidden universes. It was virtual, because she knew nothing about it . I loved the way the fine spiders webs caught a whole host of miniature universes. It was string theory and multiverse theory rolled into one, perhaps web theory. It made a great change from the beach. Till the sun turns black is by Ray LaMontagne, and is perfect.

A dew and frost covered cobweb by the River Wye near Bakewell.

Where I was working the other day there was an old mixed stone & brick, slate roof shed and inside at the far end was this window. Pale yellow & clear glass panels with a healthy coating of years old dust, cobwebs and an antique earthenware jug.

Zoom in for a closer look.

Their very round abdomen always reminds me of some far distant planet when seen at night!

You'll just have to imagine a refracted spider in each of those water droplets .... !

Happy Halloween/Friday :-)

It's nice to see kingfishers recovering after the bad winter. Here is what I think is a juvenile taken yesterday in Leicestershire. Zoom in to see the cobwebs he manages to fly by without disturbing.

It's getting towards that time of year when cobwebs are everywhere.
